Barbara is an experienced executive who has successfully led small start-up companies and large international organizations. She is currently President of GlobalSight Partners, a management consulting organization, and of Silk and Stones Travel, a custom travel company specializing in custom designed trips to Southeast Asia. She is also the Director of ABLE for Women - The Entrepreneurship Center at The Women's College of The University of Denver. Prior to this position, she held executive positions at Sun Microsystems, StorageTek, US West, Raynet, and Bell Laboratories. Her academic credentials include a B.S. and M.S. in Physics, and the Stanford Executive Program.
Throughout her career, Barbara has been a recognized leader in business development, innovation, and global leadership. She has been a speaker and panel moderator at three Asia Pacific Economic Coalition Women's Leadership Networks. She was an invited speaker at the 2007 WWC Conference in Seoul, Korea. In 2005, Barbara was inducted into the international Women In Technology International Hall of Fame. In 2007 she was awarded the Colorado Software Industry Association's Technology Supporter of the Year. She has served on Executive Advisory Boards for the University of Colorado at Boulder College of Engineering, the College of Arts and Science at St. Louis University, and The Women's College at the University of Denver.
Barbara is on the Board of Directors for Teachers Across Borders (TAB) supporting education professional development in Southeast Asia, and the Colorado Coalition for Girls in IT (CCGIT), and the Advisory Board of TACtile, a textile and fiber arts gallery in Colorado, She was a member of the Public Policy Committee, the Education Committee, and the Board of Directors for the Colorado Software Industry Association (CSIA). She was a member of the University of Denver Strategic Issues Panel on Immigration in 2009.
